Women Proposing: Leap Years Past & Present

We all know that the leap year proposal tradition is a cursory patriarchal concession which allows women them to push their year-long subjugation to the back of their tiny little minds and, for one day, feel in control of their own destinies. Well, like, duh. Which is why Vagenda contributor Harriet Wragg thought it would be the perfect opportunity to bring you a bumper, one-off edition of our stock image series. Yes, that’s right, folks, it’s PICTURES OF WOMEN PROPOSING TO MEN (harder to find than you’d imagine- even if you google “woman proposing TO man”). Enjoy.
N.B The old postcards are from Monmouth University’s Leap Year postcard archive.
