The Vagenda

Welcome to our NEW WEBSITE

vagmartini

Guys! Guys!! WE HAVE A NEW WEBSITE

If you’ve been wondering where we’ve been, well, we’ve not only been finishing our book (the various edits for which have been requiring our full attention for some time now), but also engaging the services of a wonderful web designer to remake the Vagenda website. This is now what you see before you.

We hope that you like it and that you find it easier to use and navigate than you did the old site. We know that some of you were finding it especially difficult to use it on mobile before.

Please do alert us to any teething problems in the comments below (though of course we hope it will be smooth sailing).

We’d like to take this opportunity to say a MILLION THANK YOUS to everyone who Kickstarted us: we could not have done this without you. We have no plans to monetise the site (imagine if we did GoogleAds and ended up with Playboy ads – just IMAGINE!!!) so your support has been paramount in allowing this blog to continue to snark at sexism in the media.

And a BILLION thank yous to Kate Watkiss, who made the site. It’s everything we wanted it to be, and more.

Lots of love

The Vagenda

  1. Good luck with the new site ! The format is great.. congrats to the designer.

Since you have added a cartoon character to the banner, may I introduce Agatha Heterodyne ? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girl_Genius) She is a fantastic role model imho, smart… VERY smart, gets her hands dirty with in a steam powered alternate history and kicks arse when it matters. As the tag line says:

    Adventure, Romance, Mad Science!

It’s been going some 13 years now and updates three times a week (starts here: http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20021104) and (borrowing from Wikipedia):
The comic has won five WCCA awards including 2008 Outstanding Comic, and been nominated for a Hugo Award for Best Professional Artist, an Eagle Award and twice for an Eisner Award; in 2009, 2010, and 2011 it won the Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story.

Can’t reccommend it enough for anyone who like sci-fi/fantasy stories. The entire comic is there free to read.

  2. Hi there! Quick question that’s totally off topic.
Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly?

My site looks weird when browsing from my iphone4.
I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to
fix this issue. If you have any recommendations,
    please share. Many thanks!

    • Hello
I just had a go on my iPhone 4 and site seemed to be working normally. What’s the problem exactly? Could it have been temporary?
      Love
      The V Team
